Rudolf Duraner – 2-Stage NH3 Ammonia Gas Scrubber System with 7,500 m3/h Capacity – AISI316L

The design, manufacturing, field assembly, automation, and commissioning of a two-stage gas scrubbing system made of AISI316L material were carried out at Rudolf Duraner's new textile chemicals factory established in the Bursa Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone. This system is used to remove pure NH3-ammonia vapor released during the reaction from the reactors and neutralize it before releasing it into the atmosphere.

The system is designed to be fully automatic and automated, but it is also designed to be manually operated to provide flexibility in application.

The system has a capacity of 7,500 m3/h and operates in conjunction with a total of 4 reactors.

Due to the exothermic nature of the reactions occurring in the reactor and the use of H2SO4 – Sulfuric Acid as the neutralization chemical, cooling of the circulating fluid has become necessary. The circulating chamber can be cooled using a cooling tower or chiller, and it has been manufactured with a double-walled structure instead of a serpentine coil to increase the surface area of the coolant. The equipment and fan selected in critical areas have been used as EXPROOF. Freezing prevention measures have been implemented in the system for winter conditions. All system temperatures are controlled by analog PT100 sensors. Approximately 2,000 liters of pure ammonia gas are produced during the reaction, and the reading on the Ammonia Sensor placed in the chimney is 5 ppm.
